This One Thing Increased Rental Revenue

Two of the properties we manage are neighboring cottages and one allows dogs and the other does not. The cottage that allows dogs charges an extra pet fee which does not seem to hinder rentals, in fact, the opposite occurs.

To be completely transparent, the cottage that does not allow dogs has been updated and therefore the nightly rate is slightly higher than its neighbor that allows dogs.

The property that allows dogs had 40 more nights booked to date which resulted in $7900 of additional rental revenue!

Many dog owners love to take their pets with them on trips so this is something to consider when deciding to allow dogs in your vacation rental.

There is a bit more risk to your property when allowing dogs, but we have found those renters traveling with their pets to be very respectful dog owners. They are happy to find a place do travel with their dog!
