We really enjoyed the property! It is in a great location, and a great homebase for Door County exploring. We had 4 couples staying at the house and there was plenty of room to spread out.

We booked the place for a cousins weekend and it was perfect. The place is beautiful-it accomodated everyone and it was in a central location to many wineries and attractions.

We stayed at the BARC house in July 2022. The weather was amazing, so I think we lucked out. There is no AC in the BARC house, but all the rooms are very airy and there are nice fans (vertical/horizontal) in every room. We were never too warm. I'd worry a little if it was rainy weather, but we were extremely pleased!  The place was clean from top to bottom, and even inside to out. There's a lovely firepit - clean, spatious enough to fit several people comfortably. We listened to the night sounds (to include a whippoorwill each night), gazed at the stars, and enjoyed a fire. Not a single mosquito, so whatever deterrent they use works wonders!  My parents are older but did fine with the stairs, my kids are 9 and 12 and l-o-v-e-d the game room. We had skee ball tournaments galore and enjoyed the many games stocked in the game room. They also enjoyed time in the hammock and running around the property - even finding a few beautiful surprises in the wooded area of the property 🙂 My partner and I enjoyed the spacious 3rd floor master as well as the space to spread out throughout the house. The kitchen was great as well (there was a grill we meant to use, but didn't get around to it).  We found a couple reasons to contact them over the weekend with minor concerns - we were promptly emailed back with suggestions, and then they even notified us after we left of a couple other things I'd brought up. I'm very impressed with the communication. Door County is a bustling place full of so many fun things to do and see. While we enjoyed that for sure, it was absolutely incredible being able to come back to complete solitude and peace at the BARC house. I would HIGHLY recommend.

The bedroom layout (two bedrooms with a bathroom on each side of the second floor hall with the washer dryer in the middle) and the main bedrrom/bathroom on the third floor was a great layout. Kids hung out in the attic playroom on the upper landing level in the mornings, the family hung out in the main floor family room and we had plenty of chairs around the table in the attached kitchen. New appliances, inlcuding a gas grill, and all the cooking equipment we needed in the kitchen. There were lots of yard games to play, as well as a meadow to explore. The town of Ephraim is bikeable or walkable mostly on quiet residential streets, although it is all uphill on the way home. Sunsets in town are beautiful. Ephraim has food, shopping, beach access, boat rentals, etc. Sister Bay to the north, Fish Creek to the south and Bailey's Harbor to the East are all easily accessible. We had a lovely stay in the summer. The house is well designed and we were able to keep it cool during the day and chill out nicely at nice between windows and fans for comfortable sleeping even in Aug. Thanks for a great base of operations for our summer fun and memory making!
