Friends & Family Getaway

by Sarah E.

The house was perfect for our three families. It had various areas for lounging both inside and outside. The lake itself was very calm and quite sleepy for mid-July. It was heavenly. I enjoyed morning kayaks listening to my audible book. When it came to the kids, we loved that the water was shallow beyond the dock. It definitely made water play feel safer while the adults chatted away. When the kids went out in the kayaks and small boats, we, of course, had them wear jackets. We brought a few smaller ones since we read the property only had adult-sized jackets. The week was spent with the windows open. A lovely breeze blew in each day. Since it's a nicely shaded property, the temperature stayed cool both day and night. We had a couple of issues with a clogged sink and dislocated shower head from the group before us. The management company did send a plumber. We were pleased with the timeliness. STAY! You won't regret it!

Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We are so happy everyone had a great stay! It was our pleasure to assist with the maintenance items right away. We hope to host you again!

Great location, very quiet lake, friendly neighbors, beautiful home and property ( a few things maybe could use some small fixes - one of the bunk beds top bunk rails were loose ), all the bedrooms should have an air conditioning unit two did not. But we lucked out with only one day of humid hot weather. We will likely rent again next year.

We are happy that you had a great overall stay and we look forward to an opportunity to host you next year also!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property and it was perfect for our long weekend getaway by the water. The house is beautiful and looks just like the listing. It’s a private lot, and a lovely view of the lake. We enjoyed use of the kayaks, paddleboat, and Adirondack chairs. The water on Kangaroo Lake is some of the clearest I’ve seen on a lake. As with a prior review, we had some trouble with the coffee pot but located another one in the pantry that worked. The house does not have central AC, which I noticed later was indicated in the listing and I had missed. That said, most of the bedrooms have window units that work very well, and while it was hot when we arrived, the breeze from the lake through opening windows made the house cool enough elsewhere. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would book again.

Hi Lauren, we appreciate your feedback to us! Our operations team will be following up on the other coffee pot right away. We are so glad you had a great overall stay and we hope to host you again sometime!
