Log Retreat at Fish Creek

Property was as described- was perfect size for our group of 15 people. Plenty of room for everyone, kitchen was well stocked but kitchen faucet was not in 100%working condition (had been noted in previous review - difficult to switch between spray and stream and didn’t fully retract- didn’t impact our ability to use it though). Bedding and towels were clean and high quality, bathrooms were well stocked. Screen door to the deck needs to be fixed but again, didn’t impact our stay. Outdoor space was well kept and lovely- found a few beer bottles and a bit of trash from last stay but no big deal. Lots of places nearby to get firewood and a convenient location for whatever someone would want to do in Door County.

Great vacation spot. Hosted 15 friends for a weekend get-together. Host was extremely responsive and flexible to work with check-in times and all else. Spacious home with plenty of beds and spaces for activity. Would rent again.

Very cozy , peaceful. Wood cabin with natural vibe which we find very relaxing Being in the woods gives seclusion with more than 3 acre area with nice views, fresh air outdoor seating with fire pit under dark sky added a lot to the enjoyment. Good for Groups We would love to visit this home again & highly recommend

Our family stayed at this beautiful log home at the end of July, and within a short time we discovered some significant issues. My son went out on the balcony outside the upstairs bedroom and was stung three times by a yellow jacket as there was a nest right outside the door. We were unable to use the balcony due to this. We also discovered two bats nest with bat droppings in the driveway roof overhang, which is a significant health concern. We also discovered that there were no working lights in one of the upstairs bedrooms, it could’ve been a simple lightbulb fix, but there were no lightbulbs of that size and so we had to pull a lamp into that room. There were many outlets that did not work, including the GFI outlets in the kitchen and so we had to make coffee in the laundry room. The basement was extremely musty smelling, and the two bedrooms had no windows which could be against code to have people sleeping in them. We contacted Simple Life rentals and they responded immediately saying they would send out a maintenance person between 830 and 8:45 PM however he didn’t show up for almost an hour later. He was able to knock down the wasp nest and spray for insects and did something to get the bats moved. He returned the next morning also later than promised to try to fix the kitchen outlets and bedroom, but was unable to fix them. We did not have working lights in the bedroom with the twin beds the whole stay and did not have working outlets in the kitchen the whole stay. I will say the house and the property were absolutely gorgeous and the perfect size for us with lots of games and amenities, but due to the lack of general maintenance and some of the safety concerns with insects and bats, I would not recommend staying here unless those get fixed. We did also not receive any follow up on the issues from management either, nor did they ask how my son was doing after the stings.

We loved staying at the log cabin. It was a beautiful house with lots of activities such as a pool table, pickleball court, ping pong table and the garage was filled with games for the kids. The property was very private with deer roaming in the yard everyday. We had all the amenities we needed and we were close to downtown Fish Creek. We would recommend this house for its location and its beautiful aesthetic.

The Log Retreat is spacious, inside and out, in a beautiful setting and great location. It accommodated our family well with a well equipped kitchen, very good beds and many onsite activities including pickleball, ping pong and a pool table. We were delighted with how it suited our family’s needs and we enjoyed our stay.
