Very cozy , peaceful. Wood cabin with natural vibe which we find very relaxing
Being in the woods gives seclusion with more than 3 acre area with nice views, fresh air
outdoor seating with fire pit under dark sky added a lot to the enjoyment.

Our family had a fantastic gathering here. Many special amenities such as location, Pickleball court, comfortable sleeping, parking, etc. We planned to cook our meals because we didn’t want to take little ones out to eat. We were frustrated with kitchen appliances and organization.

Our family stayed at this beautiful log home at the end of July, and within a short time we discovered some significant issues. My son went out on the balcony outside the upstairs bedroom and was stung three times by a yellow jacket as there was a nest right outside the door. We were unable to use the balcony due to this. We also discovered two bats nest with bat droppings in the driveway roof overhang, which is a significant health concern. We also discovered that there were no working lights in one of the upstairs bedrooms, it could’ve been a simple lightbulb fix, but there were no lightbulbs of that size and so we had to pull a lamp into that room. There were many outlets that did not work, including the GFI outlets in the kitchen and so we had to make coffee in the laundry room. The basement was extremely musty smelling, and the two bedrooms had no windows which could be against code to have people sleeping in them. We contacted Simple Life rentals and they responded immediately saying they would send out a maintenance person between 830 and 8:45 PM however he didn’t show up for almost an hour later. He was able to knock down the wasp nest and spray for insects and did something to get the bats moved. He returned the next morning also later than promised to try to fix the kitchen outlets and bedroom, but was unable to fix them. We did not have working lights in the bedroom with the twin beds the whole stay and did not have working outlets in the kitchen the whole stay. I will say the house and the property were absolutely gorgeous and the perfect size for us with lots of games and amenities, but due to the lack of general maintenance and some of the safety concerns with insects and bats, I would not recommend staying here unless those get fixed. We did also not receive any follow up on the issues from management either, nor did they ask how my son was doing after the stings.

We loved staying at the log cabin. It was a beautiful house with lots of activities such as a pool table, pickleball court, ping pong table and the garage was filled with games for the kids. The property was very private with deer roaming in the yard everyday. We had all the amenities we needed and we were close to downtown Fish Creek. We would recommend this house for its location and its beautiful aesthetic.

This property is a great place for a large family or extended family. There are many bedrooms and it is quite spacious for all to gather. There is plenty of entertainment with a pool table in the basement, a pickleball court and a volleyball court outdoors. The garage holds a corn hole game and tennis table for more fun. We thoroughly enjoyed the pickleball court and had a family tournament. We also enjoyed the bar downstairs and play multiple card games. There is plenty of refrigerator and freezer space. The only faults are that one of the coffee maker's did not work, the kitchen sink faucet was partially broken and there isn't any air conditioning in the entire unit. There area bedroom air conditioners in 2 of the bedrooms upstairs and the master bedroom downstairs but they do not cover the entire place. Most of the time it was not a problem, since there are windows that can be opened. One last small thing was the knives were not sharp at all. Overall though, this place was wonderful!

We were very excited about this property from the pictures and reviews but it was disappointing. It was in a beautiful setting and the location was perfect for biking in the park. We did enjoy the fire pit and pickleball court. Here is what needs attention: wasp nests under porch by pickleball court, coffee maker needs to be replaced or cleaned, the kitchen faucet nozzle needs to be replaced, throw rugs were stained and dirty, the dehumidifier in the basement did not work so it it was musty and damp making it very unpleasant sleeping in the two bedrooms, the basement bathroom ceiling has water stains and mold, sheets on the basement beds were very thin, and the towels for basement bathroom were worn, some of the bedspreads were stained and dirty, and so many light bulbs need to be replaced. I hope that these issues can be addressed and that the house gets a good cleaning. It is a beautiful property.

The property was beautiful and perfect for our leadership retreat. There were multiple spaces that we could do small breakout groups, the bonfire pit and fireplace were amazing gathering spaces. Overall, my team of 18 really enjoyed themselves! Also, plenty of space for everyone to have their own bed.

The property was well laid out and designed. Billiards, ping pong and pickleball were all accessible and fun. The cabin was a bit dirty with stained carpet, high humidity, spider webs and old bedspreads and couch pillows. Two nights before we left, a bat was loose in the house! The owner was responsive and immediately sent out an inspector who was followed the next morning (after a sleepless night) by repairmen who sealed a crack between the brick masonry of the fireplace and the ceiling where the bats were able to get in. I would not rent this place again unless I was assured it was clean and updated.

Home and setting are stunning. Pickleball was outstanding, as was ping pong and other fun stuff! Bedding awesome and plenty of towels, soap, paper towels, etc which is always a relief. Home can you use some TLC, faucet drips and outdoor banister is not super secure. All in all, was so lovely and such a bonus to have so much space and lovely beds! locations always say they sleep more than they do and this place is the opposite! slept more than they said it did. Customer service was responsive and helpful when we couldn't find the pickleball paddles. We would definitely stay again!! Thank you!

The Log Retreat is spacious, inside and out, in a beautiful setting and great location. We loved watching the Deer with their babies in the meadow in front of the cabin. Everyone had their own space and the sound proofing is fantastic to allow our teens and young adults to stay up a little later than the adults!! Close to town and highway 42 for easy access to all that Door County has to offer.

We were very excited to find this house on Airbnb as it seems gorgeous and awesome place to stay. While there are some amazing aspects to this house, there are many things left to be desired, especially for the amount of money you are expected to pay. Things are very dusty and not clean. Laps are ripped to shreds, there are flies and bees in the house, both dead and alive, and a strong musky smell. The fridge does not get cold and water/ice maker is completely broken. The wifi/internet is incredibly slow and does not work. The grill was almost unusable due to previous use. Many light stitches and light bulbs do not work. The worst part is when we reached out to host about issues, they did not respond. We asked for light bulbs and child gates for the stairs and never heard from them during the entire trip. All this being said, the amenities are one of kind and house is beautiful. I would stay again after a complete and thorough refurnishing and drop is price.

We loved the pickleball court, the fire pit and the size of the house. But, there is a pretty strong mildew odor in the house, plus there are no shades or blinds for any of the windows and you can’t lock the doors. The kitchen sink wasn’t clean and the whole place was dusty. Several things were broken, like the door screens, lamp shades, etc. We also could not get the TVs working. Other than those few things, we had a fabulous time!

We had such a great time! There were plenty of available rooms and beds to host our large party. The two refrigerators (upstairs and downstairs) were especially helpful for all of our food, drinks, and ice. There is so much to do on the property, from pickleball and ping pong to volleyball and pool. The views outside the windows were absolutely gorgeous as well - driving up to the property felt like a dream! Hosts were very communicative and responded promptly to our inquiries.

This home was perfect for our families. So much space and so much to do without even leaving the house! It was wonderful being so close to shops, restaurants, and outdoor activities, but yet the privacy and peaceful nature that surrounded the home was a nice break from the business of Door County. Pickle Ball court was the best thing ever, we played morning, noon and night!! We will be coming back for sure!

Our extended family (10, all adults) stayed here to celebrate our parents’ 60th anniversary. Home perfectly accommodated us all with room for many more! We found everything we needed while there. The setting is fantastic and we especially enjoyed the deck, fire pit, pickle ball court, and dining table that fit us all. So peaceful yet so close to all the activity in Fish Creek. Highly recommend.

Stayed here for a family reunion and loved it. Beautiful and private large plot of land so close to Peninsula state park and Fish creek. We loved playing pickleball, volleyball and whiffle ball in the big yard, and having fires at night. The kids bunk room was amazing and all the kids felt like they were at camp. We already booked again for next year!

We had a great stay overall. The code did not work upon check-in, but a phone call fixed that pretty easily. A bag of dirty towels was left right outside the front door. We cleaned the grill when we got there, but it caught fire. Fire extinguisher was empty/inoperable, but we had a fire blanket. Everything else was great. Beautiful space. Great location.
