Welcome to The Great Escape, hosted by Simple Life Rentals! This custom built log home has been updated throughout and offers private land, views of the bay and is just minutes from downtown Sister Bay. Enjoy sitting on the front porch or overlook the expansive view from the two balconies this home offers. The sun-filled property offers an open concept great room with vaulted ceilings, wood beams, exposed log wall and beautiful stone floor-to-ceiling fireplace. Additionally, the home includes first and second floor bedrooms and bathrooms, a second floor loft area with futon, a full kitchen with snack bar, dining area and work desk as well as first floor laundry. The 5 acres of land provides guests a private retreat as they enjoy the central location to explore all the beauty and adventure Door County has to offer.

**This is a quiet community with residential neighbors. This home is geared towards quiet family vacations. Due to the proximity of neighbors, we cannot accommodate bachelor or bachelorette parties, reunions or other rowdy gatherings.

Bedroom #2: second floor, Queen bed, room darkening shades, hangers, extra blankets, ensuite bathroom, adjoining loft separated by pocket door, escape ladder and private balcony
Loft: Second floor, sofa sleeper opens into a full bed, adjoins to bedroom #2 and is separated by pocket door, open to the first floor great room
Kitchen Amenities:
Kitchen is equipped with a microwave, fridge, stove, oven, dishwasher, toaster, blender, traditional coffee pot and a Keurig.
Also included are dishes, utensils, BBQ grill utensils, wine glasses, kitchen towels, hot pads/oven mitts, pots, pans, baking sheets and coffee grinder.
Dining area includes table, 4 chairs and a bench

Surrounding area:
Door County is full of many amazing things to see and do! We recommend you check out Destination Door County, the visitors' bureau, to help map out your vacation. "Door County Vacationers" is also a great FB group to join to get recommendations on everything from favorite restaurants to favorite tours, places to rent boats, and things to do.
Five state parks that are great for hiking, swimming, or biking. It also has 300 miles of shoreline and 11 lighthouses to explore. We offer culture, recreation and relaxation in a peaceful setting for our guests. This property is about 2.5 miles north of downtown Sister Bay.
Provided:
Bed linens, pillows, blankets, and bathroom towels are provided. Please bring your own beach towels.
We provide a starter pack of essentials which includes toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, dishwasher soap, hand soap and garbage bags. Due to septic systems, we do not provide facial tissue.
We also supply one each of travel size shampoo, conditioner and bodywash per full bathroom.
Due to health and safety guidelines all pantry items must be removed between guests. Please bring cooking essentials you might need such as cooking oil/spray, salt, pepper and other spices, sugar, etc.

What a sweet place- perfect for a vacation with family & friends! We loved how peaceful & private it was but also close to great parks & towns. The walking trails filled with blooming wildflowers were stunning. Comfortable with lots of convenient touches in the kitchen & throughout. I would definitely recommend.

Very clean, well-appointed house. Had everything you need for a comfortable stay. The house has A/C and you might consider updating your listing with new pictures as a lot of really nice updates were done to the exterior of the house.

Great location, extremely clean and well stocked with anything you may need. We really enjoyed the little walking trails on the property as well! Was about a 5 minute drive to downtown Sister Bay. Simple Life was easy to contact, responsive, and helpful.Can comfortably sleep six adults, but the pull out couch is on the loft so no door/privacy as a fyi.
Our group of women friends had a wonderful week in Door County staying at the lovely Great Escape home. Plenty of room for us all to be comfortable, spotlessly clean, with lovely wooded grounds which offered deer sightings and gorgeous sugar maples blazing with their autumnal glory. Everything was as advertised and we look forward to a return some day.
Highly recmmend for family and friends. Clean well kept house with a beautiful yard and decks that overlook the bay. Beautiful sunsets and short drive to towns. Great location for all of our activitie.
Everything was great! We love the secluded end of the road which made it feel like we were by ourselves.
What a fabulous cottage in the woods. Had everything we could've hoped for, aside from air conditioning, however, it was cool enough at night to leave the windows open and stay relatively cool. The description said the cottage had 3 bedrooms, but it in fact only has 2 bedrooms. Something to be aware of if you're having multiple people stay with you. It was very clean, very well kept, had all the amenities that we needed. Very beautiful and cozy little place. Would highly recommend and would most definitely stay there again!
