Surrounding Area:

Door County is full of many amazing things to see and do! We recommend you check out Destination Door County, the visitors' bureau, to help map out your vacation. "Door County Vacationers" is also a great FB group to join to get recommendations on everything from favorite restaurants to favorite tours, places to rent boats, and things to do.

Restaurants:

Breakfast: FIKA Bakery in Fish Creek (their scones and sweet rolls are a must-try), Al Johnson's in Sister Bay, Old Post Office in Ephraim, or Big Easy in Egg Harbor. Harbor Fish Market also has a nice breakfast if you're looking to stay close. We also like Bayside Coffee in Fish Creek (super cute waterfront coffee/breakfast spot) and Bearded Heart in Baileys Harbor.

Lunch: Blue Horse Beach Cafe in Fish Creek, Cornerstone Pub in Baileys Harbor, DCBC Eats in Baileys Harbor, Door County Creamery in Sister Bay.

Dinner: Chives and Food Trucks in Baileys Harbor, Wild Tomato in Fish Creek or Sister Bay, Wilson's in Ephraim. We mostly go to family-friendly places, so we don't have as many experiences with fine dining in Door County!

Ice Cream: We love Door County Ice Cream Factory (Sister Bay), the gelato from Door County Creamery, and Wilson's.

Activity Recommendations:

Hiking: Cave Point, The Ridges, Peninsula State Park

Adventure: Kayaking (Cave Point, or Kangaroo Lake for a quieter/less strenuous experience), Biking in Peninsula State Park, Jet skiing (various rentals available), fishing chartersWine tasting (Lautenbach's is a favorite, as is Stone's Throw) or cider tasting at Island Orchard

Farm Markets: Koepsel's near Sister Bay, Wood Orchard in Egg Harbor, and Seaquist near Ellison Bay.Shopping: Fish Creek, Ephraim, and Sister Bay (some neat shops in Baileys Harbor, too)Weekly farmer's markets in each community (you can usually find one on any day of the week!)

Golf: Stonehedge is a budget-friendly and flexible option if you're looking for a quick/casual round, whereas Peninsula and The Orchards are both great for a higher-end experience.

Activities for the family:

Hiking: The Ridges and Peninsula are both very stroller-friendly. The Eagle Tower in Peninsula is a must-see and is stroller-friendly.

Pirate's Cove mini-golf (Sister Bay) is always a must-stop, Sister Bay Bowl or the Egg Harbor Library are both good options for a rainy day.

The Farm near Sturgeon Bay is a really fun activity for kids, especially early in the season when they have baby animals to feed and hold! Going to see the boats in Eagle Harbor (Ephraim) or any of the area harbors is fun for kids.

We loved our stay here. Hosts are responsive and accommodating. The house is clean and well decorated and it offered a nice, relaxing ambiance. Love the layout of the space and the Kitchen was also well equipped for cooking. The surrounding beauty of the property is also an added bonus and we all felt recharged and relaxed after our stay here. I highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Door county.

What a beautiful place! We had such a great time!! The only issue we came across was not being able to connect to the Wi-Fi (even after resetting the router). Not a big deal, since it is understandable since we were in the woods. Overall, would definitely recommend!

We stayed here for a girls weekend. There were 9 of us and this house fit us perfect to a tee. There was enough room around the table for us to have a nice dinner on Friday night. We all fit comfortably around in the living room for games. We spent a lot of time exploring locally and the property was not far from anything . Everything was clean and beautiful. We had an excellent time and we will for sure be back.

We really enjoyed our stay at Cedarview. Gorgeous views from all sides. Spacious rooms and great quality craftmanship throughout. We appreciated all the amenities. Including the games and puzzles and well-equipped kitchen. Comfortable king sized beds were a treat, and it was a nice feeling to feel tucked away in the woods after full days exploring and enjoying Door County.
