Wendy Schultz, Founder & CEO

Wendy left a senior level position in a healthcare system where she oversaw the revenue cycle to begin a life of entrepreneurship in 2013. Driven by a strong desire for success, she has built a successful business that supports her dream of owning and managing a network of vacation rental properties. In a few short years, her commitment to integrity and excellence has rocketed the business to a level that not many businesses achieve in their lifetime. She has a Masters of Business Administration degree and is a licensed real estate agent with iLoveDoorCounty.com Mahler Sotheby’s International Realty.

Wendy is a teacher at heart and loves to help people find vacation homes that they can enjoy as well as rent to offset expenses! Wendy enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends. Her favorite place to be is at the beach! She also has recently taken up horseback riding. She and her husband, Scott, have two daughters who are school aged. They also have a love for animals with a menagerie of pets. They reside in De Pere, WI and Venice, FL. 

Scott Schultz, VP of Operations

Scott recently left the corporate world to join Wendy in building The Simple Life Hospitality. He coordinates the remodeling, furnishing and general maintenance of the properties. He also manages a retail division of The Simple Life Hospitality. Scott has a Bachelor’s Degree in History and had worked in the insurance industry prior to joining The Simple Life Hospitality.

He is an avid Beatles fan and recently began playing guitar. He’s first picked to be on trivia teams with a wealth of knowledge about pop culture, sports, history, and politics. He is starting to love Florida as much as Wendy does and they spend a good deal of time traveling together with their daughters. He also enjoys watching basketball and football.

Carrie Tjernagel, Property Coordinator

Carrie is the property coordinator. She oversees the onsite aspects of the properties including managing the cleaning crew, onsite property consulting with owners, health inspection coordination and many, many other roles. She ensures that the properties are well taken care of and ready for rentals. Carrie holds a Bachelors degree from Wisconsin Lutheran College where she majored in English and minored in Communication.

She lives in beautiful Door County with her husband and daughter. They enjoy the amazing life that Door County offers—hiking in the State and County Parks and boating and fishing on the abundant waters of the area. Carrie is a fitness fanatic, teaching a group fitness class at the YMCA and has completed over a dozen half marathons.

Will Pflum, Regional Sales Manager

Will recently joined The Simple Life Hospitality to assist in expanding our services to Central and Southern Wisconsin. He loves meeting potential clients so he can highlight the many services we have to offer our clients. Will is here to help clients in Central and Southern Wisconsin through the rental process and assist them to make the process as seamless as possible. Will is mostly responsible for new client acquisition in our recently expanded area.

Will has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s degree in Administration-Criminal Justice, and has an extensive amount of experience in customer service and problem solving. He lives close to Ripon, WI with his wife and twin daughters and enjoys watching sports of all types, ice fishing and traveling to Door County when he gets the chance.

Andrea Olson, Coordinator

Andrea helps coordinate the various tasks required to keep rentals running smoothly. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Edgewood College in Madison.

She lives in Green Bay, WI with her husband and son. Her and her husband own a local towing & recovery business and also buy & renovate distressed homes in NE WI. When she is not planning designs for her next renovation, Andrea enjoys spending time with her family out on the water on their family boat and frequenting Door Co often during the summer months.

Margo Marquette, Chief Operations Officer

Margo left a leadership position with a Green Bay WI hospital system where she worked for 24 years to move with her husband to sunny Venice, Florida. She previously worked with Wendy Schultz and coincidentally moved just a few miles away from her in Venice. Wendy was excited to bring her on board to work together again.

Margo oversees guest and property owner back-end operations and provides a 5-star customer experience to owners and guests.She holds a bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management from Concordia University- WI. Her favorite thing to do when not working is spend time with family and friends, but she is also very much enjoying soaking up the Florida sunshine, exploring the beautiful beaches and seeking out all of the great food that Florida has to offer!

Bryan Baumler, Director of Sales & Business Development

Bryan comes to the Simple Life Hospitality following 22 years of professional experience that includes work in Sales, Planning, and Operations Management & Leadership.  His “Simple” goal is to provide you with a superb customer experience that starts with your initial contact.  He enjoys providing an overall respectful and positive experience through collaboration and teamwork, so we can ensure an overall effective working relationship.  Bryan holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications with an emphasis on Public Relations from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.  

Bryan resides in the Green Bay area with his wife, son, and daughter.  He is an active community member who enjoys coaching in his kids youth baseball and basketball programs, while also supporting his community through various board memberships.  He also enjoys time on the golf course and making summertime memories at the lake with his family and friends.
