Cabin in the Woods

Cabin in the Woods is in a great location with plenty of room for the pups, but our stay was definitely an "off-the-grid" adventure. We survived a 2 AM blizzard power outage (and eventually reached the power company ourselves after a wrong number mishap), but unfortunately, the Wi-Fi never decided to join us for the rest of the week. Most notably, the home had a lingering, heavy curry scent that triggered some sinus issues for our group, making us worry about the air quality. While management was always polite, the responses felt a bit like talking to a scripted robot—friendly, but not quite able to solve the issues. We appreciated the two large bedrooms, the leather couches, and the cozy loft sleeping area overlooking open concept living space with floor to ceiling windows. Cabin in the Woods is a lovely spot if you’re looking to truly unplug, just be aware you are not allowed to park in the garage and there is no dishwasher.

The house was charming and accommodating to the five of us. All amenities as described were present except the use of wifi was limited which was a concern because of some scheduled zoom meetings. As of this writing, we do not know if we are going to be charged extra with five days' notice for the two dogs we had already registered. If there is an additional $700 charge, we consider it a bait and switch situation. If the misunderstanding is cleared up, we are great with the price and home.

Checkin and checkout process very simple.Very Clean! Beautiful home set privately in woods. Kitchen well stocked with cooking essentials to prepare nice family meals.Suggestions:Living Room does not have adequate comfortable seating for the amount of guests allowed. Only seats 4. (Couch and arm chair)—Limited mirrors. Only have 2 small mirrors throughout house—which makes getting ready for dinner reservations a little crowded and tricky.—would recommend sweeping off porch—near windows and doors to remove the very established spider webs .

This place checked all the boxes for a long weekend. “Limited mobility” friendly with bedroom and shower on main level. Loved the walk with the puppy to exercise and see wildlife and sunsets. Everything you needed, well supplied for families and out of way for quiet getaways. Would definitely return (with matches for the fire pit).

Very beautiful setting, clean home with comfy beds. The code provided in email didn't work for the door when we got there, but there was a number to call and I was able to get a working code right away. I extended my stay and overall thought their team was very easy to contact and coordinate with through the VRBO app, as well. That was much appreciated. Would stay again!

4 adults staying 4 nights. Our friend’s dog sitting arrangements changed last minute & owners able to accommodate our request to bring dog after we’d already told them we weren’t bringing the dog - that was appreciated. Home very comfortable and a good base for exploring the area. Well stocked for our stay - only recommendation would be to provide wine glasses - we did not find any there. Would recommend to others.

Clean and cozy. Enough space for 7. The sky light being right over the pull-out bed was tough just because of the direct sunlight but thats my only gripe. Secluded but with neighbors still, with locality to some great spots. Definitely worth the stay

Beautiful Cabin home located near Sturgeon Bay and near local wineries. 15-30 min drive depending how far north you would like to go in Door County, would recommend a car! We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this stay. My partner and I had a good night's rest but our friends would have liked the bed to be a bit more comfy! Otherwise clean, lots of space and private.

Great cabin!!! Close enough to the different towns that it doesn't take long to get places and far enough to relax in quiet and away from traffic. Very spacious for my family of 6 and very clean. Came stocked with basically everything you would need (excluding groceries) to make and serve meals. The property manager was quick to respond when I asked a question and was able to help out with what I needed. Would definitely stay again

Very clean and quiet stay. 15 minutes to egg harbor via car. No cell service for ATT at the cabin. The bedrooms are very comfortable. Couldn’t have asked for a cleaner or quieter space for three kids and two parents.

We had a nice relaxing winter weekend in Door County, and The Cabin in The Woods was perfect for my family. The cabin was clean and comfortable, allowing us to rest and enjoy a good book after exploring the local parks with our dog. I contacted the property management company to update our reservation when our daughter unexpectedly joined us for the weekend, and had no trouble getting in touch with someone. Overall, it was great experience.

This was the perfect getaway cabin. It's in a nice secluded woodsy area and very private. It's located in Carlsville which lets you get to Sturgeon Bay south or Egg Harbor and beyond north in just 15-20 mins. Quiet and peaceful. Our VRBO was surrounded by beautiful fall colored trees. The entry procedure was simple. The house was was uber clean and the kitchen was well supplied even with coffee. Much appreciated after a 7 hour drive. The massive main bedroom had a large closet, separate bathroom and plenty of lights for the evening. The downstairs bathroom suited our family fine. We would have enjoyed a fire in the fire pit but the wind picked up and we felt it might be a tad dangerous. All in all, the place is a keeper and I'd stay again!

Very nice quiet location. Just what we wanted. The house was very clean with cute fall decorations. The WiFi was weak, but there is nothing that can be done about it. The owner provided a couple of pages of instructions as to how to help make it go faster given the constraints of service in the area. It didn’t bother us as we were on vacation, but it would be difficult if we were trying to work. The water pressure was fine in the bathroom, but for some reason, it was weak in the kitchen. Not sure why. All minor things of course, but things I would like to read in a review. Otherwise we had good communication with the property managers and enjoyed our stay!

Great space! Loved the fire pit which had nice benches for our group and it was a in a nice spot under the trees. Master bedroom is enormous! It had a walk-in closet which was actually great, because we have twin infants that we had nap in the large closet (has an AC vent too) to even further reduce sound from family members downstairs. The windows in the place were really great as they let you see so much of the forest, which was well maintained and had a good balance of being completely in the woods, but without overgrown bushes/trees. Very relaxing!

It was spooky in the darkness but beautiful and quiet. I felt really immersed in Nature and able to relax and have a great time. Definitely used the fire pit every single night we were there! it was so fun to sit outside with everyone and just chat and keep warm around the fire. The master bedroom is ridiculously beautiful! there are no window treatments but you wake up and it's just you in the Forrest. The windows just look like beautiful paintings. The king size bed is SUPER comfortable and the sheets were soft and delightful to get into at the end of the night! My stay was just the weekend, but I wish it had been much longer! I look forward to booking another mini vacation in this beautiful house again! ❤️🥰

We were very impressed with this chalet in the woods. The accommodations were even more impressive than advertised. The queen bedroom is much more lovely than pictured online. The place is spotlessly clean, with no indication whatsoever of dogs having stayed there. There were also additional amenities we did not expect including an outdoor grill, both a Keurig and a standard coffee maker, and a pile of games and puzzles. We were treated to fall splendor from every window and entertained by frolicking deer and a black squirrel preening itself on a limb just feet from the deck. There is also a nice loop track perfect for a stroll or jog. I am so glad I chose this property! I brought Mom and Dad on this trip and they were thrilled too! Thank you for making this such a special getaway.

There are a lot of things to like about this cabin. We travelled as a couple with my elderly father, two year old daughter, and two dogs. My dad appreciated the full bath (with walk in shower and handicap rails) and queen bedroom both on the main floor. There were only 3 short steps required for access which were not a problem. We also felt the place was child friendly enough for our toddler. The beds were comfortable but the pillows in the master bedroom could be updated.
We loved seeing deer right outside the cabin, literally eating breakfast and they were just outside the door. Very cool. The drawback of being deep in the woods is that cell service was almost non existent. Our crew had both AT&T and Verizon- no one had reliable data service. The Wifi is limited at the cabin as well so you could never work from the cabin. It worked for us because we were able to really disconnect but worth noting.
We loved having our dogs with us but felt the pet fee of $40/dog/day was excessive given a full week rental. It was $560 alone for the dogs which seemed excessive. The other issue was not having blinds on any of the windows. It wasn't the morning wake up call that was the problem, it was coming out of the shower at night with a window in the bathroom or dressing in the bedroom at night. You are in the middle of the woods and, in theory, no one should be out there, but it made me uncomfortable as a woman.

We had originally planned our stay for last summer but had to reschedule due to COVID, and the property manager was so easy to communicate with to accommodate our changes. We were so impressed with the property, it had everything we needed for a great stay. We loved the fire pit and outdoor games, as well as the amazing trees surrounding the house. Awesome place with a well stocked kitchen. Close to everything while being private and secluded. Our group of 8 stayed very comfortably. Tons of amazing restaurants and wineries/breweries/distilleries nearby. Because it’s surrounded by woods, there aren’t shades/blinds on a majority of the windows. It didn’t bother us but if you need absolute darkness to sleep, bring a sleep/eye mask!

We were all comfortable and had our own spaces. It is not too far from Peninsula State Park, which is beautiful. The owners reached out to ensure our stay was comfortable. I definitely would love to visit Cabin in the Woods again!

We absolutely loved the house, it was super comfortable. We had 5 adults and it was perfect, lots of room to spread out! We really liked the neighborhood, it was tucked away which gave privacy and beautiful scenery! The house was decorated beautifully for the Holiday season! It added the perfect cozy touch for our Christmas getaway!

Perfect place to spend time with family. High ceilings and beautiful wooded views from every window! Large outdoor fire pit, gas grill and huge deck! Master suite is so spacious ! Owner provided nice selection of cookware, utensils, and other items that made us feel right at home. Updated decor and even beautiful Christmas decorations inside and outdoors too !

The Cabin in the Woods is a hidden gem! Great location, close to Egg Harbor but secluded in a private wooded area so you can enjoy a quiet nature retreat. The place was sparkling clean and had great amenities. We’ll be back!

We had a great time at Wendy and Scott’s place, they had Christmas lights up which made it extra homey and special. You cannot beat the outside space. We spent a lot of time at the fire pit as well as we brought our two dogs and they had a blast adventuring through the trees.

We loved it so much. We had fantastic time in this cabin. Nice and clean, quiet, pretty big amount of space. We had such a great time and celebrated there on Thanksgiving just the two of us during the pendamic. They prepared us thanksgiving cookware. Very satisfied! We'll definitely come back!

Having a private cabin to yourself with such nice amenities beats a hotel experience hands down. This cabin has the feel of being secluded while being located conveniently close to attractions in Door County.
Beds were comfortable, living room was cozy with the electronic fire place, and the view of the nature around the cabin was beautiful.

We had a great stay! The house is clean and had everything we needed. Location is in a wooded area which was very peaceful. It was a short drive to egg harbor and sturgeon bay. Scott was quick to answer any questions. Would definitely recommend!

This is a nice house in the woods - a perfect escape if you are looking to get away but not be too far away. The house was clean and well appointed and everything worked as it should. We liked that it was out in the woods but still only a short drive to the places we wanted to go. I would stay here again.

This property was the perfect location for a nontraditional Bachelor Party for my friend who loves the outdoors. We had a great time grilling, playing yard games, enjoying the fire, and overall decompressing together as we celebrated a major step for our friend. My husband and I had the absolute best time at the Canin in the Woods. We only had two nights and it felt like a week. We spent a lot of quality time out by the fire or sipping wine on the deck. And the best part was that it was dog friendly, so our doggo was able to join us, too!

We had a wonderful stay at this place! Location is perfect especially if you are looking to get away from your busy lives or from this pandemic somewhere safe , serene and peaceful. Note- the internet is not that great here but if you wanna enjoy a secluded beautiful holiday you need to expect that. Overall great place and would highly recommend everyone to consider it and also I definitely would love to visit again. 😊

This is an excellent Door County retreat. I am always excited to find AirBNB hosts willing to take travelers with pets. If you travel with your furry friends this is THE place you want for DC fun. It is simply the best of all worlds. Great place, great location with everything you need, even a private loop for walking your dogs. You won't regret staying here, we can't wait to come back. We have stayed all over the peninsula and so far this is the best we have founds. Thanks to the hosts again for being welcoming to travelers who are also responsible pets owners!
