Inside, guests will find a cozy reading nook and dedicated office/library space filled with books, perfect for remote work, journaling, or curling up with a good book after a day exploring Door County. Large windows bring in natural light and frame the surrounding beauty of the water.
With comfortable gathering areas and room for guests to spread out, this home is ideal for family vacations, couples traveling together, or small group getaways. Spend your days enjoying the private waterfront, kayaking, fishing, or simply watching the sunset over the Bay, then settle in for a peaceful evening at the property.
Open year-round and accommodating up to 6 guests, Thoreau Pond is the perfect Door County waterfront getaway for those seeking quiet surroundings, scenic views, and a relaxing place to reconnect.

Watercraft docking not allowed
Water is approximately zero feet deep at point of entry into water
Shore is mostly small and medium stones-though winter weather can change the shoreline year-to year. It’s recommended to bring water shoes to walk into the water.
 
Amenity + damage protection waiver includes:
• Bed linens, pillows, blankets, and bathroom towels. (Please bring your own beach towels)
• A starter pack of essentials which includes toilet paper, paper towel, dish soap, dishwasher soap, hand soap, and garbage bags. Due to septic systems, we do not provide facial tissue. One each of travel size shampoo, conditioner, and body wash per full bathroom.
• PEACE OF MIND Damage protection covers up to $1000 per stay for accidental damage that is reported prior to departure (excludes any pet damage).

This home is located in a quiet community with neighbors and is geared towards quiet family vacations. Due to the proximity of neighbors and municipal restrictions, we cannot accommodate parties at the property including bachelor or bachelorette parties, reunions, weddings, or other gatherings.
