The sweet sounds of summer are about to get a little smoother. Door County is launching its first-ever Jazz Festival this August 4-9, 2025, and we couldn’t be more excited to see this incredible addition to the peninsula’s cultural calendar.
Whether you're a lifelong jazz lover or just looking for something new to do on a warm summer night, this week-long event is shaping up to be something special.
What to Expect
- Live performances across the county. From Sister Bay to Egg Harbor to Baileys Harbor, jazz will echo throughout the peninsula in both indoor and outdoor venues; culminating in a main stage celebration August 9–10 at Sunset Park in Sturgeon Bay.
- A lineup that blends national talent with local stars. The festival will feature professional touring artists alongside jazz ensembles from UW-Madison, UW-Green Bay, and Birch Creek Music Performance Center, as well as student musicians from Door County schools.
- Free & ticketed events. The festival is designed for everyone, with a mix of free community concerts and ticketed performances, perfect for casual listeners and devoted fans alike.
“It’s been a dream to bring the Door County Jazz Festival to life. Over the years, I’ve enjoyed going to the Newport, Monterey and Umbria Jazz Festivals, and each one uniquely demonstrated how destination music festivals offer such a rewarding experience. That’s what’s perfect about Door County,” said Producer and Artist Staci Griesbach.
Why This Festival Matters
Door County already has a rich tradition of celebrating the arts and jazz is a natural next step. This festival brings together not just music lovers, but the broader community: small businesses, student musicians, local food and drink vendors, and volunteers all helping shape this inaugural year.
Plus, it offers a new reason to visit in early August-when the weather is golden, and the nights are made for music under the stars.
